Piece By Piece Consulting Services is proud to announce the continued development of services in effort to meet the growing needs of the autism community.

In August of 2007, we began our expansion from home-based services to include center-based locations just north of Columbus. These centers are called, “The Silver Lining Group” Early Intervention Centers.

By bringing in additional autism professionals from the Columbus area, we were able to open a center-based clinic in Mt. Gilead in August, and a second clinic in Mansfield in January of 2008.

We look forward to our third clinic coming soon to the south Columbus area.

Silver Lining Staff

We strive to provide the best for your children, and that begins with the qualified staff. Silver Lining staffers come from a variety of educational backgrounds and experiences, but they all have one thing in common; the mission to serve and support their clients to the best of their ability. Each staff member was hand-picked by the owners and completed Silver Lining’s intensive training program. In addition, staffers are monitored frequently and required to attend mandatory additional trainings through-out the year to stay up to date with the most current research practices and treatment programs.

What is Autism?

Research is ongoing, but what we know so far is....

Autism is a neurobiological condition that affects a person's ability to communicate and interact with others. It is called a Pervasive Developmental Disorder(PDD) that affects boys four times more often than girls, and it is a "spectrum disorder" that affects individuals differently and to varying degrees of severity. There is no known cause for Autism, and no common treatment. Research has shown that early, intensive behavioral intervention can be effective in pushing development in children with Autism, but it is incredibly expensive and not covered by the majority of major health insurance plans. Although each individual with autism can improve in functioning over time, unfortunately, children do not "grow" out of autism. It is a lifelong disability. A 2006 CDC study revealed, 1 in every 150 children born within the United States will be on the Autism Spectrum.
